TV Media Walls FAQs
Design
What size TV works best for a media wall?
Most media walls are designed around TVs between 55 and 75 inches, though any size can work as long as the frame is built to the correct VESA mount pattern and weight rating. We design the recess around your specific TV, not the other way round.
What height should my TV be mounted at?
The centre of your TV should sit at your seated eye level, not standing eye level — typically 95–110cm from the floor, depending on your sofa height. Mounting the TV too high is the most common mistake in DIY media wall builds, and one we design around from the start.
What's the difference between an alcove media wall and a full-wall build?
An alcove build fits within the existing recesses either side of a chimney breast, while a full-wall build extends across the entire wall regardless of existing architecture. Alcove builds tend to suit period properties with an existing chimney breast; full-wall builds give more flexibility in modern or open-plan rooms.
What materials/finishes do you offer?
[List your actual finish options here, e.g.: We offer slatted oak, marble-effect porcelain, matte black panelling, and soft neutral finishes, each available with integrated LED lighting and floating shelving.]
How do you keep cables hidden safely?
Cables are routed through a dedicated first-fix electrical containment inside the stud wall, rather than simply hiding standard extension leads behind panelling. This matters because ordinary plug leads aren't designed to be sealed inside a wall as fixed wiring — done incorrectly, it's a genuine fire risk. Our electrical work is certified to current UK wiring standards.
